read better. Teacher modeling of reading strategies and consistent practice will
help students comprehend and connect to all types of literature.
Description: This resource addresses the four types of reading
selections for 3rd Graders on the TAKS test while presenting authentic passages
that embody cultural diversity. The selections are 500 to 700 words in length. All selections are titled
and include background information.
